Alongside the impact of transformed lives, churches planted, and thriving communities, there’s another story unfolding: legacy. The kind of legacy that spans generations and is rooted in faithfulness.
At Mission ONE, legacy isn’t about looking back at our own story. It’s about celebrating the lives and ministries of our partners around the world—those who are building something lasting in their communities, something that will endure for generations.
One of the clearest pictures of that legacy can be found in Kijabe Town, Kenya.
Over three decades ago, our first international partnership began with a local pastor in Kenya named Wilfred. Along with his wife, Rahab, they are rooted in faith, clear in their vision, and share an unwavering commitment to the gospel. Together, we stepped into a mission to bring hope, healing, and transformation to local communities through the Church.

Today, that same mission continues—led by Wilfred’s son, Zack, who is now overseeing the programs of the ministry in Kijabe and beyond. What began as one man’s calling has grown into a multi-faceted ministry led by the next generation. And one of the most exciting developments underway is the establishment of a medical clinic—a powerful example of meeting both spiritual and physical needs in the community.
To witness this generational continuity is humbling. It’s not just a passing of the torch—it’s the faithful unfolding of God’s work over time.
What we’re learning
What we’re learning in stories like this is that transformation rarely happens overnight. Seeds of faith are planted long before the fruit is seen. Impact takes time and requires consistent faithfulness, patience, and trust in God’s timing. When we look at Kijabe today, we see the harvest of prayers, sacrifices, and steadfast commitment sown years ago. That’s the reminder: legacy is built little by little, with each step of obedience adding to a future we may not yet see.
What Wilfred began with courage and conviction is now being carried forward with fresh energy and vision by his son and a team of local leaders.

“Rev. Wilfred, my dad, has immensely impacted the building of the Kingdom having brought 10s of thousands to Christ through mission work that comprises of evangelism, baptism, church building, medical care, and compassion.
He has been consistent and deliberate in all his ministry action, being a very difficult choice to become a missionary where one lives by faith with major challenges ranging from financial constraints, social and cultural challenges, community conflicts, spiritual attacks among others. Rev. Wilfred has been able to overcome all these challenges and served as a missionary for over 38 years and counting.
This was made possible by the partnership with Mission ONE that began in 1991. Mission ONE has made it possible for his ministry to succeed through support, training, and encouragement in building the Kingdom.
Bob [Mission ONE Founder], my godfather, has been a pillar in our ministry and family life. Through Mission ONE he has made it possible for the ministry to thrive.
Through these experiences, the love and humility shown by Bob and Wilfred gave me the motivation and the zeal to join in the ministry and continue with the good work of building the Kingdom. I have the vigor and joy to take the ministry to better heights having learnt from the founders.
I have learnt that humility, patience, good communication, dedication, being Christ like, honesty, accountability and being prayerful while respecting people and their views promotes the growth of a ministry.
I pray that with continued partnership with Mission ONE, the legacy will go on and be great for the generations to come. I am devoted to ensure that the good work that began 34 years ago will move to the next level of growth for the glory of God.” –Zack, Wilfred’s son
This is the heart of what we believe at Mission ONE: that true transformation is local, sustainable, and enduring.
For 34 years, we’ve had the honor of walking alongside global partners like this—men and women who have sown seeds of faith and restoration in their communities. And when we see their children stepping into leadership, innovating new solutions, and carrying the mission forward? That’s the kind of legacy that lasts.

We’re focused on what God has done—and is still doing—through His people. Legacy isn’t built in a day, or even in a decade. It’s built in faithful partnership, over time, with eyes fixed on Christ and hearts committed to the flourishing of all peoples.
We’re grateful for every story like this. Every partner. Every generation. Every new chapter.
Today, Mission ONE partners alongside 13 local ministries serving communities across Africa and Asia. We’re honored to walk together—today and for the generations to come.
