Werner has been serving with Mission ONE since 1992. He leads our Training Ministry and currently serves as Vice President. He developed Mission ONE’s resource The Beauty of Partnership to help churches and mission teams develop skills for healthy cross-cultural partnerships. In addition, Werner authored The Global Gospel (2015), and was co-editor with Chris Flanders of Honor, Shame, and the Gospel (2020). His forthcoming book is One New Humanity: Glory, Violence, and the Gospel of Peace (April 2025) co-authored with Kristin Caynor. He has taught on honor-shame and the gospel in Brazil, India, Lebanon, New Zealand, Spain, Thailand, Turkey, and the United States. Werner’s passion is contextualizing the gospel of Christ for a broken world in a way that is biblically faithful and culturally relevant.
